My name is Drew Buck and I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Missouri studying computer engineering with an emphasis in computational intelligence. My current research deals with modeling spatial relationships using the histograms of forces. My masters thesis focused on a hybrid evolutionary algorithm to perform the task of scene matching between a hand-drafted map and a geospatial image. I have also worked on computer vision and robotics projects, and plan to continue applying my research to those fields.
Apart from my academic life, I have been an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, having worked four summers as a ranger at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. I enjoy camping and climbing mountains and taking pictures of my adventures.
